In the rich tapestry of South African music, two rising stars are creating seismic waves with their unique blend of talent and innovation. Gernie and Mel Muziq, the driving forces behind Little Friends Sessions, have forged a

50/50 mix that's taking Mzansi by force. In this blog post, we delve into the journeys of both artists, exploring

Gernie: A Journey Fueled by Passion and Influences

Gernie, also known as Algenon, embarked on his musical journey in 2018, initially

experimenting with production. However, it wasn't until 2019 that he decided to take his

craft seriously. Influenced by Amapiano legends such Mdu A.k.A Trp and MFR Souls,

Gernie's love for the genre began to flourish.

His musical debut came in 2020 with the release of "Endless," a collaboration

with Wayne11. Since then, Gernie has consistently dropped singles and graced

stages alongside industry heavyweights like Mdu Aka TRP, Bongza, and

The Squad Lala Bulala. Collaborations with Villosoul, Master Jay, Nani

Wayne11, and others have solidified his position in the South African music

scene, earning him a reputation as one of the country's promising talents.

Mel Muziq: A Rising Star in the Amapiano Scene

Mel Muziq's journey began in 2021 when he joined Mature Studios,

owned by Amapiano pioneer Dj Stoks. His collaborations with

Tman Xpress, Miano, Soulful G, and Lee Mckrazy laid the foundation

for his ascent in the industry. The turning point came with Dj Stoks'

"Stoks & Family Album," where Mel Muziq's brand gained recognition.

In 2022, Mel Muziq released his first EP, "I Am Music," marking a

significant milestone in his career. The Kasi of Soweto, with its

warm and friendly people, became a focal point for his brand's growth.

In 2023, he had the privilege of working with industry giants such

as Kabza De Small, Mdu Aka Trp, Mashudu, Mkeyz, SOA Mattrix,

Happy Jazzman, and Da Muziqal Chef.
